The Pacific Inn (a.k.a. the P.I.) has long been notorious for cheap, delicious fish & chips, a good jukebox, a moderately surly staff and one of the greatest neighborhood bar atmospheres in the city. Tonight, we chatted with one of the most infamous P.I. bartenders, Nate. One of the most familiar and friendly faces in the neighborhood, Nate filled us in while we enjoyed some scotch and a few pints.

What’s your favorite drink to make? Vanilla Kamikaze—it has Vanilla Skye, Cuantro, Chambord and Sweet & Sour. Seriously, they taste good. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen happen here? We have a picture of a lady paying for a pitcher of beer in dimes. I think she was a hooker; I’ve seen a lot of weird things here. Ever find anything crazy after close? It’s too dark and I’m too tired to look. Really, what do you hate to make? Can I just say Jagerbombs? That drink is disgusting! I think I made eight of them last night and the chick tipped me $1. I hate Red Bull, Jager should be drank alone; not to mention who orders it has already too much. Last question, what happened to that rubber nun that used to be behind the bar? I think she offended to many people. That whole religion in the bar thing, people don’t like that. Plus, I think I put too many cigarettes in her mouth.
