This week on Unorthodox: Tel Aviv, so hot right now.

Our Jewish guest is writer Jillian Keenan, whose first book, Sex With Shakespeare, explores her dual passions for the Bard and BDSM. She tells us about how Shakespeare’s plays helped her examine and come to terms with her unusual sexual identity, why she identifies with Caliban from The Tempest, and who she thinks is the most overrated Shakespeare character.

Our Gentile of the Week is Jeff Yang, former columnist for the Wall Street Journal and San Francisco Chronicle, and the founding editor of A. Magazine, an Asian American periodical. His son Hudson Yang stars as Eddie Huang on ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat. He tells us about his enduring love for comic books, the Asian comic book series he co-created, and what it’s like having his 12-year-old son star on a sitcom.

Unorthodox is hitting the road! We’ll be at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto, California, on April 7, and we’ll be at the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, North Carolina, on May 16.
