I, too, am sad to see this series end. Vanessa Davis packs so much into such a small space. Each comic has a remarkably full emotional range, and is such a wonderful combination of humor, poignancy, and thoughtfulness. I always think about them long after I’ve finished them. I am getting a bit tired of amateurish art, in this case cartooning, being published in responsible journals. Vanessa Davis has little conception about what constitutes a comic strip. Its appearance mirrors the sort of society that we have been saddled with for too many years. VD is no more a cartoonist than I am a major league ball player.

I’m sad to learn that this will be VRD’s last comic strip in this series! She’s one of the top cartoonists of her generation (and one of my very favorite living cartoonists). I’ve really enjoyed seeing her memoir comics here on a regular basis. Thanks so much!
