This week on Unorthodox: Bernie Madoff’s prison hot-chocolate scheme.

We’ve got two Jewish guests this week. Our first guest is a return visitor: Rosie Gray, who covered the election for BuzzFeed and is now a staff writer at The Atlantic. She tells us about covering politics under a Trump presidency, why we should retire the term “fake news,” and what she’ll be doing for the inauguration.

Our second guest is Charlie Brotman, who has announced every inauguration parade from Eisenhower to Obama. He tells us about being told by Trump’s inauguration committee that they had asked someone else to announce the parade, where you can find him announcing this parade, and his favorite parade memories over his 60 years of announcing them.

We love hearing from you. Email us at [email protected] with comments or questions, or just to say hi. We may share your note on air.

Unorthodox is a smart, fresh, fun weekly take on Jewish news and culture hosted by Mark Oppenheimer, Stephanie Butnick, and Liel Leibovitz. You can listen to individual episodes here or subscribe on iTunes.
