Maybe it’s just the holidays, but it seemed like a lot of the Portland people had “What’ next in my life?” on the brain, too. >>

I’m sad to see this series end. I so enjoyed your musings and your out-of-the-box creativity. You offer a refreshing definition for “thoughtfulness”. Best of luck with the good things that surely await you.

  2. Debby says:

I am sad to see this end…It reflects everyone’s coming of age…and issues of adulthood be it young or old or in the middle. Vanessa you are awesome.

  3. Rebecca says:

I, too, am sad to see this series end. Vanessa Davis packs so much into such a small space. Each comic has a remarkably full emotional range, and is such a wonderful combination of humor, poignancy, and thoughtfulness. I always think about them long after I’ve finished them. Thank you for this fabulous series. And best wishes for all your future ventures and adventures!

  4. Juliette says:

I’ve followed & have enjoyed each every one so much. sadness…

  5. I am getting a bit tired of amateurish art, in this case cartooning, being published in responsible journals. Vanessa Davis has little conception about what constitutes a comic strip. Its appearance mirrors the sort of society that we have been saddled with for too many years. VD is no more a cartoonist than I am a major league ball player.

Your columns were fabulous. They were both funny and poignant. What a shame they won’t continue. Thanks for your great work.

It’s over? No! This was a great series. I can’t wait to see what Vanessa Davis does next.

I’m sad to learn that this will be VRD’s last comic strip in this series! She’s one of the top cartoonists of her generation (and one of my very favorite living cartoonists). I’ve really enjoyed seeing her memoir comics here on a regular basis. Thanks so much!
