Disambiguation – In the last sentence above I meant why can’t Israel be accepted as a democratic state while still being a Jewish state, when it grants equal rights to all it’s citizens.
Arab Israelis have full voting rights, can live where they like & take a full part in public life like anyone else. Most western countries hold their Christian heritage to be dear even when they are officially secular. There are dozens of states that are officially Muslim (many strictly limiting any other faiths), so why should anyone have a problem with the Jewish state?

Just another idiot trying to erase the “shame” of Israel from the world map. Naturally getting (in)famous and making a buck in the process are hardly disincentives, just a pity he doesn’t give a damn that he’s smearing, warping and eroding Jewish history/identity in the process. What’s new? The Christian Identity movement have been doing it for years to further their racist/supremacist claims to being the “10 lost Tribes”, while the Jews are meant to be Khazars or Edomites (who are naturally impure & to be hated following the racists logic). This time we have a man of Jewish heritage, who presumably believes that the only valid democratic state is one based on the western model, where separation of “church” & state is one of the many sacred cows that are held above all other concerns. I don’t hear anyone arguing that the UK is somehow not a democracy because the head of state (the Queen) is also the head of the Church and “Defender of the Faith” (i.e. Anglican Christian faith). Why the hell can’t Israel be democratic & grant equal rights to all while still being the Jewish state? – Muslims in the UK have full rights!

Excellent review, Mr. Goldstein. I have just finished reading Prof. Sand’s book, and as a Catholic, I find his conclusions earth- shattering. Why does an average American find all this so interesting? Obviously because powerful Zionist pressure groups have tied the USA to the hip of the Zionist experiment. We have suffered physical attack on our soil, become embroiled in two senseless wars and earned the emnity of billions of persons worldwide because we have cast aside our own values of fairness, and respect for right and wrong, to support the Zionist farce. I wish the Jews of Israel and all of the world well, but given the availability of dangerous technology and ease of international travel for those who would harm us, Americans can no longer afford to live in willful ignorance, and we must correct our foreign policy course. Personally, I am promoting Prof. Sand’s book among my friends and family, essentially doing my small part to increase awareness of the truth.
