Tehranpars,
Respectfully, the number of Jews kicked out of Arabs lands is close to 1 million. Propaganda has diminished or eliminated this because it is offensive to Muslim sentiment to believe you treated people so inhumanely as you want to paint the Jews of Israel.Lastly, the number of Palestinians who fled or chose to leave is actually 600,000, not 'many millions'.
As to the Arab 'peace proposal', it is a basis for negotiations, not a fait accompli. The armistice lines of 48 (which were changed after 67) were not borders precisely because Iran and the Arab countries refused to accept them. Egypt and Jordan could have ceded the West Bank and Gaza to the Palestinians any time from 48 to 67 but chose not to. Instead they waged war after war with Israel.
The Palestinians have borne the brunt of differing Arab (and Iranian) goal and using them as pawns as well as their own intractability. While it is true that Israel has certainly played its part, the Palestinians could have had their own state repeatedly throughout recent history but they have demanded an 'all or nothing' solution which continues to achieve nothing.
The borders of the two states have yet to be drawn. Neither the Arab Solution nor the Israeli Solution nor the Palestinian Solution is THE answer, merely a starting point to achieve the answer.

To Mr Carlos
Greetings

1. The 2002 peace offer is no suicide for Israel. You recognize the Palestinian state and live in peace with Arab/Muslim people.

2. The figure of 1 million Jewish refugees is unfounded. It is not ture. The number of Jews who were "forced" to leave their homes is much smaller. They should be compensated for what they were foced to leave behind. As should the many million Palestinians who were forced to flee.

Respectfully yours
Tehranpars

To Teharanpars,
Come off it. No Moslems actually care about the Palestinians. Not one country is willing to lift a finger to help them, and most countries either kick them out (Iraq) or take away their citizenship (Jordan. As for the "peace offer". It can be called the Israel suicide offer. Also what about the Jewish refugee issue. Don't you think 1 million refugees should be taken into account?

With Respect
Dear Jewish readers

There is an anti-“johud” element among Iranians and in their culture, but it is not an overwhelming one, nor one which could not be addressed and changed. A more democratic Iran would be able to deal with its own racist sentiments much better than it is doing now.

However, please consider the idea that the fundamental issue is peace between Israel and Palestine. The quicker the Israeli people realize this the quicker we can move towards peace in the Middle East. For example, Arab states put a peace proposal on the table in 2002 for the 1967 border, East Jerusalem and recognition of the refugee issue. In return, full relations with Arab states. Please, don’t miss the opportunity for peace. Our children might not forgive us.

Respectfully yours

The green movement in Iran is a civil rights movement. Maximum capacity of change this movement can bring is purely domestic. Some examples of the aspirations of this movement are right to public assembly, freedom of press, free-fair elections, and the respect for human rights. Normal relations with Israel, Lebanese affair, Muslim sufferage in other countries is a distant second and not even a priority for the Green Party. Of course there are strains within the movement that want to take this civil rights movement to the next level and abolish the regime altogether but that is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Anyways in a fantasy wish list IF the Green Party ousted the Mullahs and came to power relations with Israel would be at best at a chargé d’affaires level. a very ordinary low level diplomatic exchange between the two countries.

I agree, Iran's young will shape a better future for their country. It is not so much that they love Israel, as they don't believe their regime's claims that every problem they have is Israel's fault anymore.
But on the blogs, I had a young Iranian tell me personally that they read Israeli news in Iran. If you have seen presstv.com, the Iranian official newsite, you will know why they seek other information.
At least, they respect Israeli News for being more truthful than their own government. I'd take respect over affection any day. A truly beautiful thought would be for Persia to be restored, and it's relationships with Democratic countries improve. I think this one little area of the world could go a long way towards positive, global relations.

The author reads too much in this movement. They have nothing against oppressing sunni, Jews, and other minorities. They never protested against the idea of wiping Israel from the map. I am pretty sure, the idea is very popular in Iran - otherwise their leaders would not repeat it so often.
I worked with one Iranian scientist. He is a very educated man, with very delicate manners. He believes Israel does not have right to exist because it is based on fiction, on false religion, Judaism. He agrees that Israel should be wiped from the map, even though he does not care much one way or another. I see young Iranians like this.

I'm proudly, even belligerently Jewish and pro-Israel, and the people I trust most in my life are Iranian Muslims, living in the United States.

The future relationship between Iran and Israel may be beyond our predictive capabilities, but there is a possibility of it's being mutually respectful at least, and perhaps mutually beneficial. The generation that left Iran as children around the time of the revolution does not have memories of enmity between the two countries, and in my experience they are not apt to harbor animosity toward Israel.

Judging by the fact that almost all Jews living in Moslem-dominated countries in the middle east have been ethnically cleansed I think that we can guess the answer. The only city in the Middle east where Jews and Moslems live peacefully side by side is Haifa.
