Each day, The Scroll will feature a post from our new Birthright Israel travel blog, The Roll. Get on the bus here.

A seminal component of the Birthright experience is the mifgash (encounter) between American participants and Israeli soldiers. Thrown together they bond, pray, learn about each other’s lives in Israel, and (sometimes) make appropriate that secondary definition of seminal. (Sorry.)

Over at The Roll, Leon explains the implications of being a skinny Israeli teenager and being a skinny American teenager.
