From Hitler to Hemp Leaves
Two neo-Nazi pop stars have a change of heart
When I first saw this, I thought it was an Onion article, but it is not: Twins Lynx and Lamb Gaede, who formed a neo-Nazi pop band in the early aughts called Prussian Blue (named after a by-product of the poison used to gas Jews during the Holocaust), are now singing a different tune thanks to a little pot. Nowadays, they promote peace, love, and diversity. The medical marijuana a doctor prescribed for various health problems reportedly saved Lynx’s life. (She’s now a painter and furniture restorer.) She and Lamb are now excited to campaign for the legalization of marijuana across the country. Stoked, even.
Joking aside, doesn’t this just dramatize the stark cultural divide of California more than ever? Lynx and Lamb grew up as self-described “country bumpkins” with their Nazi-loving, swastika-belt-donning grandpa in Bakersfield, California—just a couple hours away from Los Angeles. There’s a thin line between hippies and hate.
