• After extensive debate, the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. elected not to divest from Israel, merely to encourage investment in the Palestinian territories. [NYT]

• The head of the United Nations team on the ground, a Norwegian general, reports that the violence in Syria is “unprecedented” and that dialogue “is not possible.” So obviously we should continue to do nothing. [LAT]

• The list of U.S. supporters for MEK, the Iranian separatist group listed as a terrorist organization which has been linked to Israeli operations in the past, is causing many a raised eyebrow in Washington. [WP]

• There has been a huge upswing in voluntary Haredi enlistment in the IDF under the theory that whatever replaces the Tal Law, set to expire at the end of the month, could make life worse for draftees or volunteers than the status quo. [Haaretz]
