• Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi dropped Shimon Peres a letter in response to a Peres note wishing Morsi well at the start of Ramadan. Morsi did not mention the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt but did extend a wish to restarted the peace process. [JPost]
• Contrary to reports, Dennis Ross—President Obama’s former adviser—is not sitting out the election because he’s dissatisfied with Obama’s positions on Israel. He’s just busy and doesn’t have enough leave time from work to campaign. [JTA]
• For those who missed this story, the Lebanese judo team asked that a wall separation barrier be built between them and the Israelis during practice so they wouldn’t have to see the Israeli team. [Times of Israel]
• Congress is preparing a new biting round of sanctions on Iran, despite doubts expressed by Prime Minister Netanyahu on their effectiveness. [CBS]
• Mitt Romney fired back against charges that his comments at a Jerusalem fundraiser were racist against Palestinians. [CNN]
