The case against circumcision has reached government halls and city legislative dockets across the globe. In many instances, measures that have been passed to ban circumcision have been ultimately overturned, vetoed, or weakened. But the issue doesn’t die there.

Or as David P. Goldman writes in Tablet today:

…these measures mark a truce rather than a victory for Jewish communities in Europe.
