Nearly 40 years after it was first designed, Louis Kahn’s Four Freedoms Park has finally opened on Roosevelt Island, just off of the east side of Manhattan. Michael Tower has the story about how the memorial to FDR, especially given its delay, is a timeless achievement by the Estonian-born architect Louis Kahn.
