• Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, has withdrawn her candidacy to replace Hillary Clinton as the next secretary of state. Citing the loud Republican opposition to the very suggestion of her nomination, Rice wrote President Obama to instruct him to leave her out of the considerations. [NYT]

• Hours after being indicted on a minor charge, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told reporters at a press conference that he would not resign now, but would consider the move after consulting with lawyers and others ahead of the Israeli elections. [Times of Israel]

• Jews in Copenhagen have been warned by Israeli and Jewish officials to not wear kippot or Jewish symbols as a flood of anti-Semitic sentiment continues to plague the country. [Business Insider]

• According to Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s calls for action on Iran’s nuclear program were misinterpreted by many as interference in the American presidential elections. [JTA]
