• Turkey has removed its objection to Israel participating in NATO military activities, possibly signaling an easing of tensions between the two countries. Israel and Turkey, however, will not be engaging in joint military exercises just yet. [JPost]

• Four firefighters were attacked by a gunman in western New York after being called put out a fire. Two of them died on the scene, the gunman also died of a self-inflicted gun wound. [NYT]

• Actor Jack Klugman, who famously made up one-half of The Odd Couple, has died at age 90. [USA Today]

• Ariel University Center, a college located near the West Bank settlement of the same name, has been given final approval as a full university. [JTA]
