The International Center for Photography is hosting an event featuring two of our favorite people: Alana Newhouse and Maya Benton. The topic is the photographer Roman Vishniac, whose archives the ICP acquired just a few years ago.

Join ICP Adjunct Curator Maya Benton for a lecture on Roman Vishniac and a Q&A with Tablet Magazine Editor in Chief Alana Newhouse. Maya Benton is an art historian who focuses on documentary photographs of Jewish life in central and eastern Europe in the interwar period.

If you’re familiar with Vishniac, you’ll be happy. If you’re not familiar, read up on Vishniac from Alana Newhouse’s excellent piece in the New York Times Magazine, which also features Maya Benton, who worked with the Vishniac family.
