• Syria’s Druze minority, which by religious practice remain fiercely loyal to the governments under which they live, have shifted their support away from Bashar Assad. [WaPo]

• Following its proxy Hezbollah’s lead, Iran has denied any involvement in the Burgas blast that killed six people in Bulgaria last July. The Iranian ambassador to Bulgaria told reporters in Sofia that Iran is “against any form of terrorism,” which, of course, is total poppycock. [Times of Israel]

• History nuts will reenact Robert Kennedy’s 1963 50-mile march from Washington, D.C. to Harper’s Ferry, Virginia on the 50th anniversary of the event, which was prompted as a fitness challenge by his brother, John. [NPR]

• The United Nations did not renew the contract of a Jerusalem based employee nearly a year after he tweeted an inflammatory photograph. After the picture was discredited, the employee did not apologize or retract the photo. [JTA]

• The ‘In Memoriam’ video tribute at the Academy Awards has become a bigger target of public relations campaigns in recent years by families and colleagues of Hollywood’s dearly departed. [NYT]
