• Following a trip to Yad Vashem, Har Herzl, and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, President Obama left Israel for Jordan. Much of his last day’s schedule was impacted by strong winds and an unexpected sandstorm, which sent metaphor-hungry writers in sugar shock. [JPost]

• In what will be greeted as another bold statement, President Obama said that the creation of Israel didn’t happen because of the Holocaust and that the existence of the State of Israel prevent another Holocaust. [JTA]
