He’s given $100 million to the Newark school system, he’s agreed to host a fundraiser for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, he’s pledged to give half of his estate to charity, and now Mark Zuckerberg is advocating on behalf of immigration reform.

In a opinion piece in the Washington Post today, Zuck tied the issue to knowledge economy and the promise of young ambitious new citizens.

This is, after all, the American story. My great-grandparents came through Ellis Island. My grandfathers were a mailman and a police officer. My parents are doctors. I started a company. None of this could have happened without a welcoming immigration policy, a great education system and the world’s leading scientific community that created the Internet.

Today’s students should have the same opportunities — but our current system blocks them.

We have a strange immigration policy for a nation of immigrants. And it’s a policy unfit for today’s world.

Additionally, Zuckerberg announced the founding an advocacy group with fellow tech entrepreneurs called FWD.us. You can sign up via Facebook. I’m sure if you’re an undocumented immigrant, your data will be safe.
