There are said to be exactly four original copies of Oskar Schindler’s famous list, which saved the lives of roughly 1,200 Jews during World War II. One of the four is now for sale on eBay. The starting bid is $3 million.

I’m not sure there’s really much to say about this. The seller is unknown, but the document’s original owner is said to be Yitzhak Stern, played memorably in the Spielberg film by Ben Kingsley, and the company handling the sale is Gazin Auctions, which sells exclusively on eBay where it has a 98.8% positive feedback score. Among the other items being hawked by Gazin are “Samuel Morse Historic Photograph Signed Twice w/ Morse Code & Holograph Message” for a $54,000 (which is $18K times three) and “Rosa Parks 3 Pages of Handwritten Notes about Bus Boycott & Meeting MLK,” which is being sold for $35K.

There’s plenty that’s jarring about the ad on its own, but nothing so bizarre as the template text beneath the image of the list that reads: $ Have one to sell? Sell it yourself
