Police arrested a group of god-fearing drug lords in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, in April, Gothamist reported today, despite the dealers’ best efforts to evade the law—and observe Shabbat. Their alleged antics were so careless and brazen, it was as if they thought doing right by God would keep them from getting caught.

The men, Jack Zibak, 28, Jack Zaibak, 24, Eduard Sorin, 38, David Gerowitz, 26, Philip Mandel, 37, and Aron Dombroff, 30, reportedly sold massive amounts of heroin, Oxycontin, Xanax, and Suboxone out of Zaibak’s basement. Cops released text messages sent to more than 50 clients, filled with references to the stash and reminders that their operation shut down at sundown on Fridays.

“Awesome batch of dob just came!!!” read one mass text from April 12. “Open from now till 7:30 also blues stix & subs,” referring to a newly acquired Xanax supply and the approaching sundown.

“We are closing 7:30 on the dot and we will reopen Saturday 8:15 so if u need anything you have 45 mins to get what you want,” specified another.

Along with the drugs, the sting operation, which cops called Only After Sundown (get it?), uncovered a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a drug ledger, and a BlackBerry filled with the incriminating texts.

With all that evidence, even God couldn’t get them off the hook.
