FBI Raids NY Yeshiva; More Price Tag Attacks

• The FBI raided a yeshiva in New York last night, arresting two rabbis for allegedly taking money to kidnap Orthodox men and force them into granting their wives a divorce. Electric cattle prods are involved. [NBC]

• Gunmen briefly abducted Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidan last night in what is being called retaliation for the recent U.S. special forces’ raid that captured a Libyan al Qaida suspect. [Times of Israel]

• Jewish extremists vandalized two Palestinian villages in less than 24 hours in what are being called price tag attacks. [JTA]

• Hired to film a Jewish wedding? Spending the evening making anti-Semitic comments and calling the bride ugly—all caught on camera—probably isn’t the most professional approach. [Jewish Chronicle]

• Janet Yellen, nominated yesterday to head the Federal Reserve, will be the first woman to hold the position, though not the first Jew. [Forward]

• Israel’s Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has announced plans to cut 5,000 jobs—10 percent of its workforce. [NYT]
