And you thought Michelle Obama had moves. The U.S. National Archive Twitter account brings our attention to the best hora we’ve seen all week (I know, I know, it’s only Tuesday): Betty Ford’s.
“Betty Ford dances the #hora after a state dinner,” the tweet said, linking to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum Tumblr account, a lively mix of archival photographs. The hora in question took place after a state dinner for none other than former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who visited the White House several times while Ford was president:
Betty Ford added some new steps to her repertoire as she danced the hora following a state dinner for Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin of Israel. She joined several after-dinner guests in performing the Israeli folk dance in the Grand Hallway.
The First Lady’s form could use work, but I appreciate her enthusiasm. I give her a 10.
