Plus, long live @Mayor Emanuel!
You’d have thought Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 19, every year) would have been enough for him. But nooooo.
This is not about freedom of speech. It’s about a company’s right to have a zero-tolerance policy for employees, covering public displays of ethnic, religious, gender and orientation hatred. Dior had every right to give Galliano the door.
P.S. If Galliano had an ounce of intellect in his brain, he would know that his hero Hitler sent gays along with Jews and the disabled to the Nazi gas chambers of Europe.
the less attention, the better. Somehow, i suspect he appeals to LCD
YES, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO IGNORE THIS IDIOT. BUT, NOW THAT HIS IGNORANT, HARMFUL STATEMENTS ARE OUT, HE SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY THE PIPER.
Anti-semitism cannot be ignored. It was ignored and thought to pass when Hitler first started. Jews were not concerned until it was too late.
In small towns in Europe, no Jews live there but anti-semitism grows and then the people travel to another town and it grows and grows.
I have heard many stories where no Jews live and yet it is discussed and name calling so that their children, as now in this country, the professors in the elite universities are allowed to blame everything on the Jews. They have tenure so they can say and teach whatever.
This is why tenure should be outlawed. It is something against all the people except those that have it. Not many but less than the majority and they have the power over us Jews by these elite Jews.
Now that the publicity is done, let’s ensure his style is utterly forgotten, and his ideas in couture, and form are discarded, and his entire existence as in ancient egypt, rubbed out of history.
THAT is punishment for this particular mindset
As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor I learned the meaning of Never Again. Apathy flames the fans of ignorance and hatred. We need to speak up and act out. We need to educate.
Why haven’t there been more of an uproar especially among Jewish fashion designers such as Donna Karen, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren or shall I say Ralph Lipshitz, who have kept conviently quiet.
Regarding Mr. galliano apology he needs to show that action speaks louder than words.
Mr Galliano needs to pay a trip to Auschwitz and learn that a yellow star or a pink triangle on black and white clothes is not a fashion statement.
