• Iran has accepted an EU request for more nuclear talks, though it’s not clear when. [AP/WP]

• A senior Syrian official expressed confidence that the regime’s crackdown on what has been a nearly two-month-long uprising would prove sucessful. [NYT]

    It is unbelievable how the West is lulled into paralysis every time the Iranians say they want to negotiate – and of course each time nothing happens – and of course in the meantime Iran continues to advance its nuclear programme.
    This is naïveté pushed to its extremes.
