Those Fickle Jewish Votes

Several recent polls have indicated that in 2012 President Obama will fail to win as much of the Jewish vote as he won in 2008 (78 percent). But, as Dan Klein shows today in Tablet Magazine, the reason for this might be at once more broad and more nebulous than specific issues like the economy or even Israel: It’s simply a fact that, for the 30 years stemming after Watergate, every incumbent president has lost Jewish votes when running for re-election.
