This week’s winner is “D,” who had some angry words for Rabbi Michael Broyde, who emphasized the importance of Jewish law in identifying the dead, including those killed on 9/11. “Rabbi, you sound like the Wicked Child in the Seder,” D writes. “If this is what happened to You Other Americans Who Are Not Jews, then you are sorely lacking in empathy and identity. The rest of us are the 4th child, the one who does not know how to ask, and you are not teaching us well at all.”

My caveat is that I do not see evidence that Broyde himself endorses the view D attributes to him. But the view surely exists, and D is right to guard against it. And she receives, naturally, a copy of David Mamet’s The Wicked Son.
