Each Monday, we choose the most interestingly Jewish announcement from that Sunday’s New York Times Weddings/Celebrations section. Honorable mentions this week are two interfaith marriages (with non-Jewish ceremonies): the nuptials of Miriam Goldstein and Michael Calderone (the latter of whom is a Friend of The Scroll) and of Allison Pataki and David Levy (the bride being the daughter of the former governor of New York). But the winner this week is that of Thomasin Franken and Brody Greenwald. Greenwald, the groom, is a D.C. lawyer who hails from southern California; Franken, the bride works in charter schools but has in reserve a degree (a “grand diplôme,” actually) from the French Culinary Institute. “Her father is a Minnesota Democrat and a former writer and performer on Saturday Night Live.” Mazel tov to the happy couple!
