If Walt Whitman’s unique, unrhyming, unmetered verse can feel somewhat sacred, well, Whitman himself called it the “Bible of a New Religion.” And, as former staff writer Marissa Brostoff reports today in Tablet Magazine, lawyer Daniel Redman has found in Leaves of Grass something of a queer Torah, perfect for setting to the sort of ritualized chanting he used to hear in synagogue.
