Peter Cole, the co-author of Nextbook Press’ Sacred Trash: The Lost and Found World of The Cairo Geniza, dropped a new anthology of poetry in translation today, The Poetry of Kabbalah: Mystical Verse from the Jewish Tradition. Cole, in case you only know him from the award-winning Sacred Trash which he wrote with his wife Adina Hoffman, is a MacArthur Genius grant winner for his poetry and works in translation, including The Dream of the Poem: Hebrew Poetry from Muslim and Christian Spain 950–1492, which, after The Hunger Games, is one of the most dog-eared books on my shelves.
