• The Palestinians delivered President Abbas’ letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu. Literally nobody expects anything to come of it. The only intrigue is that Prime Minister Fayyad withdrew from the delegation at the last minute. [WP]

• The IDF head dismissed Lt. Col. Eisner, who rifle-butted a protester (which was captured on video), and barred him from serving in a command position for two years. [Haaretz]

• In Paris, the Friends of Syria gathered to try to raise more money for the opposition as the five-day “ceasefire” teeters. [NYT]

• Iranian nuclear scientist Fereydoon Abbasi is a man to watch. A new appointment this week could indicate regime support for compromise. [NYT]

• Ted Nugent, the crazy rocker who is supporting Mitt Romney, compared himself to a “black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally.” Let the umbrage begin! [Atlantic Wire]

• “Hope is like a faithful dog,” the activist Bono, of U2, wrote in the King David Hotel guestbook. Then he drew a picture of a dog. [Buzzfeed]
