• A 33-year-old American teacher was shot and killed while jogging in Benghazi, Libya today. [Washington Post]

• The Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre is being sued for more than $1 million by former followers. [JTA]

• U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has presented Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a security proposal in an effort to move the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks forward. [NYT]

• New York’s Central Synagogue has appointed the first Asian-American rabbi, Angela Warnick Buchdahl, to their senior rabbi post. [JTA]

• In an unexpected move, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran to discuss the Syrian civil war. [Times of Israel]
