Laverne Cox is one of the breakout stars of Netflix’s hit show, Orange is the New Black, the second season of which premiered earlier this month on the streaming site. Cox plays Sophia Burset, a transgender woman convicted of credit card fraud who quickly becomes one of the most compelling characters on the show. Cox is transgender in real life, and last month became the first transgender person featured on the cover of Time magazine.

The actress stopped by Chelsea Lately last night to discuss the addictive prison series (if you haven’t finished Season 2 yet, please stop reading this and go watch). But that’s not all they discussed. According to Page Six, Cox told host Chelsea Handler she prefers to date Jewish men.

“I dated a lot of Jewish men,” the transgender “Orange Is the New Black” actress said on “Chelsea Lately” Wednesday. “I’d like to think of myself as the nation’s premiere black transgender shiksa.”

Cox chalked up her dating preferences to location and noted that there are lots of Jewish men in New York. “They seem to like me and I like them and we get along,” she quipped.

Preach.
