Jerusalem Shutters for Snowstorm

Talking to the city’s residents as they prepare for a rare occurence: snowfall

When it comes to snow in Israel, when it rains it pours. That is to say cities like Jerusalem, which really aren’t equipped to deal with any amount of snow, often shut down in anticipation of the annual or biennial light snowfall that hits the region. Schools close, stores shutter, roads get blocked off, all before it even starts snowing.

Israel Story’s Mishy Harman spoke to Jerusalem residents as they prepared for this week’s snowstorm, either by stocking up on groceries or insisting that it wouldn’t actually snow.
