Who’d have thought Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was such a big Mariah Carey fan?

Carey and her billionaire partner, Australian entrepreneur James Packer, have been yachting around the Mediterranean and made their most recent anchoring in Israel. Since they’ve been in the Holy Land, Carey has been seen shedding tears on a trip to the Western Wall with her four year old twins, Roc and Monroe in tow. And get this: last Sunday, Carey and Packer paid a stately visit to the Netanyahus—Bibi and wife Sara—for dinner.

And Bibi pulled out all the stops. The Jerusalem Post reported that Carey was the “honored guest” at the Prime Minister’s private family dinner, treatment usually reserved “for senior diplomats and world leaders.” Escorted to the event by her boyfriend, Carey and the Netanyahus reportedly swapped photos of their kids, while the singer told the Prime Minister about her trip to the Western Wall. She told him how she reminded her daughter to “remember the day you visited this important place.” Presumably, Netanyahu responded by expressing his love for Carey’s 2005 comeback album The Emancipation of Mimi.

But Carey wasn’t just in Israel to mingle with its Head of State. Neither Carey nor her boyfriend are Jewish, however the couple are allegedly planning to meet with an unnamed “spiritual leader” in preparation for their engagement, TMZ has reported. According to The Times of Israel, it has been Mariah’s dream to visit the Jewish State. “I waited many years to come here, and I am very moved,” she said. Packer also apparently has business interests there. The couple plans to visit Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea.
