In November 2014, Jeff Goldblum, The Fly himself, married Emilie Livingston at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. At the time, Tablet’s Deputy Editor Stephanie Butnick reported:

This is the third marriage for the 62-year-old Jurassic Park actor, who was previously married to Patricia Gaul and Geena Davis. The multi-talented Livingston, 31, is an aerialist, contortionist, and actress (and former Olympic rhythmic gymnast)—Goldblum has gushed that he’s “lucky, lucky, lucky.” The pair began dating in 2011.

And the third time, as they say, appears to be the charm for Goldblum, who was “so excited” to share his family’s “wonderful” news on Tuesday. In fact, Goldblum and Livingston welcomed their baby boy, who they named Charlie Ocean, on July 4, America’s Independence Day (you can’t make this stuff up).

Last September, just a couple of months before the couple was married, Goldblum appeared on Late Night with Seth Myers to share ideas for his baby’s name:

“I like thinking of names,” he told Meyers. “And Goldblum is such a kind of particular and, I think challenging name, sound-wise”

His first possibility is Coda Goldblum. “It’s a musical term, it means go back to the best part,” Goldblum explains to the audience, who seems lukewarm on the name. Then he tries out Mingus, an homage to jazz icon Charles Mingus. “I don’t know if it should get a laugh,” he says to the amused crowd.

His final option is Frisbee Goldblum, inspired by Meyers dog Frisbee, who he’d just met backstage.
