The way I feel about the appeal of The Golden Girls is the same as I (and others) do about ice cream or pizza: If you meet someone who doesn’t like ’em, don’t trust that person. It turns out I’m not the only one who loves Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia this much. At New York’s Comic Con earlier this month, a company named Funko sold out of its action figures of the foursome immediately. The same happened through retailer Target, which sold out of its shipments of a few thousand in less than 24 hours. The box set originally cost $25. (This is Funko’s second iteration of a Golden Girls figurine, the first being a “pop” model.)

Now, these 3.75-inch action figures—each cast member wears flats—are selling for upward of $200 on eBay. They have been for weeks. Obviously, this speaks of demand for the characters from a show that ran from 1985 to 1992. So if you’re looking to shore up a Hanukkah gift early, don’t say I didn’t tell you where to look. Here’s the catch, though: They don’t speak. If they did, I’d spring for Dorothy, clearly the best Golden Girl, whose sarcasm is the thing of legend. I dare you not to watch this entire video:
