How Far Would You Go For a Bagel and Lox?

When food blogger and cookbook author Molly Yeh was a guest on Unorthodox earlier this year, she lamented how hard it was to get a bagel with lox ever since she moved with her now-husband from Brooklyn to his family’s sugar beet farm on the North Dakota-Minnesota border. She told us she was learning how to make bagels and that she was actually planning a trip to Alaska to catch salmon so that she could make lox herself too.

But while braving a long line at Murray’s on a Saturday morning has us feeling like Jewish heroes, Molly doesn’t mess around. She went to Alaska, cured some salmon, and made some freaking blueberry lox:

Mazel tov, Molly. May 5778 be full of homemade bagels and lox for all.
