Each week, we select the most interesting Jewish obituary. This week, it’s that of Ezat Delijani, a prominent leader in Los Angeles’ and indeed the United States’ Iranian Jewish community, who died late last month at 83. Primarily dominant in real estate, after leaving his native Tehran in 1979, he firmed up a downtown jewelry district and established a downtown garment district, at which he made a point of employing immigrants from Iran. His other contributions to L.A. civic life included the refurbishment of several old theaters on Broadway, also in downtown L.A.
