The Internet taketh, the Internet giveth. And today, friends, the Internet is in a giving mood, thanks to the efforts of a 21-year-old Canadian college student who believes that Yiddish has the power to make people laugh.
A video recently posted to Vimeo by Talia Martz-Oberlander, a chemical physics student at Quest University in British Columbia, shows a hilarious scene from Broad City with Yiddish voice overs. In it, Abbi and Ilana talk about pegging at a Shiva for Ilana’s grandmother, which somehow leads to an emotional breakthrough for the entire grieving family. Yep.
Below, watch the scene in Yiddish (because, of course), followed by the scene in English.
