The image above is a Google Map posted earlier today detailing, in pinpoints, the spread of violent protests attributed to the hate film “Innocence of Muslims.”

For those seeking more context, I’d like to point back to our excellent essay “Beware of Even Numbers” from this morning by Zachary Novetsky on the media’s failing to cover the origins of the film responsibily. Check it out here.

We’ve also got a stellar offering from Matt Welch about the pernicious claim among some commenters that the film and not the mobs are to blame for the violence.
