Each Monday, we choose the most interestingly Jewish announcement from that Sunday’s New York Times Weddings/Celebrations section. This week, it’s that of Sarah Becker and Zachary Zimmerman, who were married last night and have a pretty killer “how we met” story. Zimmerman was a Marine, and his former lieutenant is a cousin of the bride who frequently joked that Zimmerman would marry her (they had never met). The “joke” got to the point that Zimmerman’s mother met her parents and, spending the night at their house, called Afghanistan one evening and told her son, “I am sitting here in my pajamas with your future mother-in-law.” And lo, she was sitting there in her pajamas with his future mother-in-law. Mazel tov to the happy couple!
