Action Bronson, everybody’s favorite Jewish rapper-chef from Flushing, Queens, posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed on Instagram on Wednesday with the following caption: “Well this Alaska trip turned into me having emergency surgery. #Fuckthatsdelicious #Recovery”

Let’s begin with #Fuckthatsdelicious, which, it turns out, is not just a hashtag to describe one’s feelings about food or a sweet bong rip; in actuality, Fuck That’s Delicious refers to the name of Action Bronson’s cooking web series. In fact, Bronson, born Arian Asllani to a Jewish mother and an Albanian father, was in Alaska filming his show, and one look at his Instragram provides evidence of some incredible provincial dining, i.e. baked whitefish with rendered seal oil, caribou stew, carious Alaskan mammals, such as bowhead whale or beluga blubber.

But Bronson was hospitalized, reported Pitchfork, “due to complications from ongoing hernia issues from Bronson’s powerlifting days,” the rapper’s rep told the music website. And Bronson backed it up, and was grateful:

It happened in 2010 while I was deadlifting 10 plates with no belt and just being a young animal.

I’ll be back stronger than ever, trust me.

Take care of yourselves because it could happen to anyone.
