On a live talk show, a spokesman for Greece’s Golden Dawn Party threw water at one left-wing politician who accused his party of wishing “to take the country back 500 years.” (I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t briefly thought of this.) The Communist politician seated next to him proceeded to slap him with a newspaper, prompting him to punch her. An arrest warrant has been issued.
Golden Dawn, which received 7 percent of the vote in last month’s elections, is openly xenophobic and admiring of the Nazi Party (I mean, check out its flag!); its youth wear black shirts.
