What should Iranian-Americans looking to get the U.S. government to take a harder line with the repressive mullahs and President Ahmadinejad do? Today in Tablet Magazine, Sohrab Ahmari, himself an activist in favor of Iranian democracy, suggests his countrymen expatriated on these shores take a page from a similar movement: the wildly successful mission to tie U.S.-Soviet relations to the status of the Soviet Jews. There is a very specific playbook here, and if it worked for the ultimate diasporic people, why wouldn’t it for another?
