Sarah Silverman Shares a Political Spiel, and Her Love for Bernie

‘Hilary had always been my choice…but she takes a lot of money from big corporations and banks, the very people she says she’s going to stand up to’

There’s something about Sarah Silverman—much like Ilana Glazer’s Broad City and Chronic Gamer Girl characters—that just hits me the right way. I imagine Silverman would be a peach to hang out with, particularly because she’s someone who appears to believe that everybody, assuming they take on heightened levels of kindness and respect, should be able to function the way they want to in this here world. But society ain’t right just yet, especially not now, in this election year.

So Silverman is putting herself out there—again. In 2008, she thought up “The Great Schlep,” desiring “Jews to gets their butts down to Florida” to inspire their grandparents to get out and vote for Barack Obama (and not be a douchnozzles). Then, 2012, she proposed to Sheldon Adelson that he give his big money to Obama rather than Romney, offering the casino magnate sexual favors as an incentive, which, in case you’re game to play this imagination game, is a vile visual.

Whether or not Silverman’s comedic plots worked, you can’t deny it: In some sense, Sarah Silverman is undefeated. She’s two for two, as Obama won in both election years. (Thank, Obama.) Now, Silverman is giving her love to Bernie Sanders, offering her support in classic Silverman fashion: first, she tells viewers about her pubic hair; then, she gives her reasoning for supporting Sanders (and not Clinton). Enjoy:
