‘Star Trek’ TV Series Gets Reboot
CBS makes it so

Your daily American entertainment streaming experience is about to hit warp speed.
The Star Trek television enterprise will be getting a seventh (!) treatment, CBS announced on Monday. The new Star Trek series, which is set to launch—fire photon torpedos! fire plasma cannons! fire Varon-T disruptors! KHAAAAAANNNNN!—sorry, I got carried away there—will cast through the media giant’s new digital streaming service, so you can watch it from your couch and still have a free hand to slurp noodles without a snag. The series is set to premiere in January 2017.
“The brand-new Star Trek will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations,” the announcement promises, “while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.
Well, here’s hoping it rocks.
