• In an unexpected move, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed President Obama for re-election. Bloomberg did not endorse a candidate and cited climate change in the wake of Hurricane Sandy as one of the factors leading him to make the decision. [NYT]

• According to an ADL report, anti-Semitic acts decreased by 13% in 2011. [JTA]

• Bloomberg writes on the patron saint of Jewish sports nerds–Daniel Okrent, who among many things, invented fantasy baseball. [Bloomberg]

• Mahmoud Abbas made some very unusual statements about Palestinians not having the right to live in Tzvat and about accepting the 1967 borders. Unfortunately, his audience was Israeli television and not the United Nations or his own constituency. [Times of Israel]
