Empire Kosher, the country’s largest kosher poultry vendor, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, and to tout its new and improved chicken nuggets, the company decided to make the world’s biggest chicken nugget—and succeeded.
They unveiled the hefty creation this week at Kosherfest, the world’s largest annual trade show for certified kosher products, which is celebrating its own 25th anniversary (Nextbook, Tablet’s predecessor, headed to the convention back in 2006, recording a lively podcast about the ensuing sensory overload).
The mega-nugget clocked in at 51.1 pounds, measuring a little more than 3.25 feet by 2 feet—the size of 720 nugget-sized nuggets. It required 2.5 pounds (pounds!) of breading and took six people three hours to make it. It takes a village.
