Each Monday, we choose the most interestingly Jewish announcement from that Sunday’s New York Times Weddings/Celebrations section. This week, it’s that of Lauren Held and Ofer Cohen, married Saturday. The bride is an interior designer; the groom, who I’d guess from his education and parents is an Israeli native, is an entrepreneur with stakes in Hummus Kitchen, the New York City chain, as well as Greenwich Village’s Cafe Wha?. It’s good to hear the latter retains Jewish ownership: the legendary venue on MacDougal Street, which helped launch the careers of Lenny Bruce and Bob Dylan, was founded by one Manny Roth, who (little known fact) was the uncle to one David Lee. Mazel tov to the happy couple!
